THE DEMOCRATIC FIELD 1
The first edition of The Democratic Field was held at the Centre for Social Innovation in New York City, on June 25 2019, just a few days before the first debate between candidates for the Democratic nomination for President. There were 20 candidates for the nomination. We selected 10, and sourced policy statements from them online for two different issues, then transcribed those statements and ‘scored’ them for verbatim performance.

The table-reading resulted not only in immediate audience responses, but a body of qualitative data that we summarized and analyzed in a post-event report, to demonstrate the extent and depth of knowledge that can be produced by a project like this.
